Digital Studies Core

Introduction to Digital Studies
Lower-Level Digital Studies Elective

Requirement: Select one of one of ARTS 104: Digital Approaches to Fine Art, CPSC 106: Digital Storytelling or CPSC 110: Intro to Computer Science. Additional courses in this group may also be used as major electives.

Applied Digital Studies

Requirement: Any 300- or 400-level DGST course. (Note: Students who declared before Fall 2024 must complete DGST 395 or re-declare the major in order to use the current requirements.)

Requirement: Select four electives, at least two of which must be 300-level or higher.

Minor in Digital Studies

Intro to Digital Studies

Requirement: Complete 12 credits from the list of approved courses. At least two disciplines must be included, and at least two classes must be 300-level or higher.

Capstone

Requirement: This requirement can be fulfilled by completing ARTS 454, COMM 460, HIST 427, HIST 428, ENGL 451, or an approved individual study.

Requirement: Complete either an internship (JOUR 499) or an individual study (JOUR 491) in journalism. These experiences are scheduled individually, so contact Professor Subramanian for information and options.
